Bootloader Question!
« on: 15.01.2008 at 15:13:02 »
Hello Guys,

i order a ready assembled Editon from the Yampp3/USB.
I have Programm the Atmega162 with the STK500 and the 10Pin Connector.
If i load the Bootloader for M161C mode an set the COMPAT Fuse the bootloader works correctly an the Diode D5 ist blinking.
I can load the Firmware over USB, i load the Testcode on. At the Terminal i've got the correct Answer, but the Atmega doesnt answer to "?".
If i remove the COMPAT Flag the Bootloder doesnt react on close PIN8 and PIN15, but on the Terminal the Chip ist answering when i send "?"

With the other Bootloader is the same thing but adverse.

If i flash the newest Firmware it goes.
If i connect a Harddisk (I tried 2)  to the player, i can see on the Terminal the follow Message:
Init.... Ready
Not YADL found
(take time)
Format Disk? Press Play.
I Push Play, the player ist asking that iam sure, i push play again. The Yampp is restarting and it cames the same message again. What do I Wrong.
I have the Atmega162 what Bootloader and what Firmware i have to use?
Have i to set the COMPAT flag at AVRStudio or not?

The connection with YamppLink won't work also, it cames any error or it hangs up on connecting.

I test the USB Connection with the Test Code, it works not 100% correctly, sometime there go characters missing.

Thanks for your help!

Hi Freakster235,

I can't help you with the bootloader problem. But if the player works with the latest firmware, everything is ok. There are some people who had the same problem with formatting the hard drive. Take a look

Two general solutions: installing the hard drive in a pc and wiping it completely or using a different drive.
