OK, here we go again  ;D

  • Menu system has improved, it stays open when returning from functions. Much better this way.
  • Menu navigation is quite fast. Sometimes hard to stop in the right moment. (This is true for files where the distortion problem occures, see below.)
  • The distortions with some files while navigating during playback are still present. Same for the interruption on all files when returning from menu to play screen.
  • Skipping is nice (holding up or down for some time), but hangs when skipping PREV from the first song if there are subdirectories before that song (remember what I said about release 0.10a: it displays "4 of 10" but the first three are subdirs).
  • Since we can already skip through the files a permanent volume control would be nice as well. Otherwise I will have to normalize all my files  :o
  • In a subdir with 32 files the play screen displays "1 of 33" through "32 of 33". Obviously parent directory ".." is counted as well as no. 33 at the bottom while it is being displayed at the top of the file browser. Irritating. Should not be counted at all.
  • File browser does not remeber the last dir. Always starts from root dir. Maybe open it with the dir the currently playing song is in.
  • Returning from USB connection does not update the screen. Still displays the same thing that was displayed the moment the usb cable was plugged in. Idea: display something like "USB active" right before activating the USB support. And go back to main screen afterwards.
  • Took courage and tried to click on the computer icon again. And hey - it did work! The bootloader startet and the player shut off normally afterwards.

It's really getting better. Nice work, MIC!

I just cant get the USB mass storage to work with Windows Vista.
A new removable disk appears in my computer and when i try to get into that disk i get the following message "R:\ isnt available ,incorrect function "

What is wrong ?

And why is the backlight flickering all the time?

@kay1234
The distortion is not fixed so far, but will be in a later release.
You may notice that the slider has two positions, half and full up/down. You can use both psostions for browsing and menu moving. Full gives fast response, half gives slow or single response.
The problem with counting of files is not fixed so far, because I need to find a "nice and easy" way, but will be done later.
Permanent volume control is already implemented in this version, slider half up/down is used therefor. Please refer to the documentation, "Related Pages".
The USB problem will be fixed in a later release.

@dixipix
Did you asked Microsoft for the USB problem?
I can not do any test because of lacking Vista installation. And I will not install before release of SP2  ;D

Please specify "flickering". I didn't notice such problem on my two yPod's.

The backlight is unstable, like its bad contact between two things.
I record the behaviour if you like, but im not sure if you will se it.. but i can do a try if you want

Exact, like an unstable LED.

I dont have to connect the USB cable to see this flickering

Oh... but I tried that... so it seems volume control doesn't work properly for me. But I will go for an explicit test this evening.

It does - at least here. But the display does not change when disconnecting the USB cable. Just do a long press on the button and the menu is back  ;)

Nice,

I do miss a indicator for volyme when playing... Did not get the YP act as a USB mem, but that is most likley due to the drivers in my computer... (Said, not able to read, do you want to format. And when trying to format, got an error...)

Volume control works. I was just too impatient - had to hold the slider in the half up position just a bit longer...  :-[

To be able to verify, and if needed, adjust the volyme before putting in the earpices, without having to switch to the volyme menu..
