I had been thinking of having a line with icons at top or bottom. Now, with the cover image and graphic menu it got a little difficult, especially because I also think the icons should be at least 12x12.
Perhaps things can be rearranged to have a 16 pixel icon line at the top, including the graphics menu ? with 16x16 icons it will all be much clearer, and there's room for 8 of them. It should be enough with 3 icons for the menu.
Perhaps the texts for artist and album could be written in the small font. I can't even read the current one without glasses, so.....  :D

I'll try to make an icon of that tonight.

That's the way humman eyes work when reaching and passing 40 years old. When we'll have time (and SAM7S will have time left  :P we'll implement a magnify option like Windows?  8)
(joking...)
I'll have the same problem in arround 5 years...

To be serious, I've already thougth that I can add a scrolling that display artist name, year, and music gender (rock, folk etc...), this way we free one line on the screen and add the music gender information.
Must leave go to work... I'm late.

Is there a way we could move this graphical menu discussion to a different thread and cut it out here? I would prefer to use dedicated threads instead of pasting everything about everything into the Todo-List thread...

Botosu has opened one for the graphical menu a while ago:

Try this one: http://www.postimage.org , at the end you will have a nice piece of phpBB code to integrate into the message or just a link to the picture.

@Jesper if you have time, you can look at: http://www.postimage.org/mod.php

1.

if we can keep the discussion in one single place, I think it'll be more ease for all of us.

2.
I like more the Jesper's idea.
I had been thinking of having a line with icons at top or bottom.

3.

This line with icons isn't it the graphic menu  :-\

4.
First lets make a list with what we need in this menu.
Suggestion:
 - stop icon;
 - play/pause icon;
 - next icon;
 - prev icon;
 - browse icon;
 - vol/bass/treble icon;

Total of 6 icons (12 icons like in icon menu form the start up)

This thread was opened to contain the Todo-List. If we discuss everything on that list in the very same thread I guarantee that we will lose track of the individual items very soon.

Anyway, the line with icons is supposed to contain status icons only if I got that right. Like battery status and whatever. And not control icons like in MIS' menu.

Your approach is somewhat different from what MIS implemented. You want dedicated buttons for each task, MIS has realized selections/modes that change the behaviour of the control button. E.g. you select "next/prev" from the menu and you can skip through the tracks with button up/down afterwards.

let me restate the point 1:

Please move all replays related with this subject to this thread

Now I understood.  8)

Yes.  :D
I think that will look better in this way  ::)

I tested already :), but I do not like the green square  :-[

So, may be we can have a status bar on the bottom, and a graphic menu on top.
