WMV files
« on: 17.02.2007 at 10:52:34 »
Hi,
.wmv files do not play (the player goes back to the intro screen with the 4 big buttons when you click on it) but the same file does work when i rename it to .mp3. then it also gets a audio-icon instead of a questionmark.

oh, and a filename on the play-screen would be usefull :)
wmv's dont show a samplerate / bitrate either, but the playtime works just fine.

Playing of anything else than MP3 files is currently not implemented. It's interesting that it will play the file if you rename it, apparently it's easy to implement the WMV fix  ;D

Rev 0.33 now plays WMA and AAC (.m4u) files.
If a WMA file doesn't play, it's probably because it's licensed. Those are not supported.

Apart from DRM, a WMA file can also be WMA Professional or WMA Lossless, both of which are not supported by VS1033.
