Hi guys
New to this board, regards to all.
I have just added a vs1011e (48 pin quad flatpack, on jelu 48 pin adapter board) to an mp3 project. All the digital and analogue voltages are present (3.29v) and all the grounds are correct. I want to use the internal osc so have connected pins 17 and 18 together. TEST is connected to +vdd (3.29v) and all suggested pulldowns are there. RESET is high: my software now pulls it low for 0.5 sec then high for 0.5 sec, in a loop so I can check things. RCAP is always 0v. GBUF is always 0v. The XTAL0,1 pins (joined) go low when RESET goes low.
The datasheet seems to suggest that simply applying power should cause a few things to happen (RCAP goes to 1.5v or similar). I have put a scope on the osc pins and can see nothing except they go to 0v when RESET is low. I don't have to load any registers to get things moving, do I?
As an experienced engineer I am now at a loss, except to think that the chip is bad, which would be unlikely.
Any help greatly appreciated
Charles
